Archive Collection Policy

The Moffitt Historical Archives is governed and owned by the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Inc. which was founded in 1986. The Moffitt Biomedical Library is in charge of overseeing the selection, description, arrangement and the preservation of archival materials. The Moffitt Cancer Center Archives' mission is to preserve, organize, describe, make available historical documents, photographs, and memorabilia which promote the history, culture, vision and legacy of the Moffitt Cancer Center.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Archives is to select, collect, preserve, and display archival materials from the history and everyday life of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Inc. as the institution continues to work towards fulfilling its mission: “To contribute to the prevention and cure of cancer” and vision : “to transform cancer care through service, science and partnership.” This includes archival material in a variety of physical formats and from various departments in the organization as well as the role of the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Inc. within the field of cancer care and their work in the state of Florida.

Scope of the Collection

We will collect records created by the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Inc. and archival materials of individuals that are connected to the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, Inc.
